Voices4Christ Children's Choir Begins this Fall

Our Children's Choir, Voices4Christ, is now accepting registrations for the 2022-2023 season. The choir is open to children in grades 3-5 and meets every Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. We follow the Forsyth County School and St. Brendan Youth Faith Formation Schedules. For children enrolled in Wednesday Youth Faith Formation sessions (SAIL) adult volunteers will walk them to their classrooms once rehearsal is over. The Choir will sing at the 12:30 p.m. Mass once a month. There is a minimal fee to purchase a polo shirt which will be worn during performances.

Join us at Open House on Wednesday, August 24 at 4 p.m. to meet our director and learn more about this wonderful program.  You may also email the Children's Choir Director, Victorial Kerins ([email protected]), with any questions.

Ready to register?  Simply click on the Register Now button at the top of the page and complete the Registration form.

St. Brendan Music Ministry

This ministry allows its members to develop their God-given musical talents in order to guide the congregation toward a deeper experience of Christ, spirit of prayer, participation in the liturgy, and understanding of the mystery of the Eucharist, through professional, enthusiastic and appropriate music for Mass and other events.

The members of the music ministry are asked to sing or play an instrument at most rehearsals and Masses that their choir serves.

Helpful Attributes
Members of the music ministry should be willing to serve the parish with joy and desire for improvement, and should possess a good voice quality, sense of pitch and rhythm. The ability to read sheet music, sing harmonies, sing solo and play musical instruments (especially organ and piano) are not required, but they are very helpful.

Training & Time Commitment
Rehearsal times vary from group to group, but most groups rehearse for about an hour one weeknight and arrive early to warm up before their weekend Mass. Training is provided for those who would like to cantor for the psalm or for the whole Mass.
