Choir Director

We're seeking a skilled and collaborative choral conductor to join our music ministry. This person will lead volunteer choirs in rehearsals and liturgical celebrations, fostering both musical excellence and a spirit of prayerful worship. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching singers of varying experience levels and cultivating a welcoming, encouraging rehearsal environment. This position requires availability on nights and weekends.

The part-time Choir Director conducts at rehearsals and services, works with the Music Director to prepare repertoire, teach notes/diction/phrasing, and maintains a prayerful and respectful environment during rehearsals. The Choir Director must be available for weekday evening rehearsals, weekend services, high feasts, and concerts as needed.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Lead weekly choir rehearsals for several groups of varying size and instrumentation
• Conduct the choir during masses, holy days, and special liturgies
• Prepare singers through rehearsal techniques, vocal instruction, and score study
• Collaborate with the music director and liturgical planner in implementing St. Brendan’s musical vision
• Encourage participation, confidence, and continued growth among volunteer singers
• Communicate professionally and consistently regarding rehearsal and choir needs

Qualifications:

• Experience conducting choral ensembles of varying skill and experience
• Strong leadership and conducting skills
• Ability to read and interpret SATB scores
• Working knowledge of sacred pedagogy
• Familiarity with Catholic liturgy preferred
• Piano proficiency required

Musical Proficiency Required:

• Strong vocal leadership
• Clear and expressive conducting skills
• Strong sight-reading ability
• Piano proficiency

Substitute Preschool Teacher

We're looking for caring, enthusiastic, and responsible individuals to assist with the care, learning and supervision of children in our programs. This on-call position will join our faith-based, warm environment for children 15 months to five years old  from 8:30am - 1:00pm. Candidates should possess a love of early childhood education and exhibit a positive, nurturing attitude. A degree or certification in education, childcare or child development is preferred but not required.
