Boy Scouts and Venturing Scouts
| Purpose: |
The Scouts emphasize duty to God, Country, Others, and Self. St. Brendan parish has sponsored a Boy Scout Troop for years to provide this experience for boys aged 11-17. A newly formed High Adventure Scout Troop is also now available for both Boys and Girls Ages 14-21 called Venturing Scouts. |
| Responsibilities: |
Troop 205 supports the parish with the Doughnut Ministry, Easter Vigil Fire, Flag Retirement Ceremonies, and small maintenance projects around the property including Eagle Scout projects such as the fire ring and community garden. |
| Helpful Attributes: |
Young people looking to develop character, citizenship, and personal fitness. |
| Training & Time Commitment: |
Meetings are every Monday at 7:00 pm in the Barn and there is one weekend outing a month, such as camping, canoeing, hiking, biking, rock climbing, etc. Scouts are encouraged to come to meetings and campouts when available, will work around other activities such as athletics. |
