MUSIC MINISTRY
| Purpose: |
To enhance our parish community’s experience of liturgical prayer through quality, prayerful leadership of the assembly’s song, and through thoughtful and prayerful embellishment of the liturgical rites. |
| Responsibilities: |
Those engaged in this ministry are asked to sing or play a musical instrument at Masses and other liturgical celebrations, as well as attend rehearsals. |
| Helpful Attributes: |
Helpful attributes for music ministers include the ability to match pitch, read music (not a requirement), play an instrument (not a requirement) and a desire to minister to God’s people in the name of Jesus Christ. |
| Training & Time Commitment: |
Both training and time commitment varies from group to group. Some attend periodic rehearsals by appointment while some attend weekly pre-Mass rehearsals and others attend weekly weeknight rehearsals and pre-Mass rehearsals. This makes it possible for people to offer their talents in whatever capacity works best for them. |
