| Purpose: | The Liturgy Commission is a coordinating commission, a working group, who does prayerful, thoughtful, organized preparation to encourage full, conscious, active participation of our community in worship. A primary goal is to encourage communication among ministers who have specific roles in liturgical prayer and worship. This commission brings together priests, deacons, parish staff and leaders of liturgical ministries at St. Brendan. |
| Responsibilities: | Committee members meet monthly to plan upcoming worship celebrations and coordinate among liturgical ministers so that all those serving in liturgy have the information they need to ensure that parish worship is a rich experience for all. Those who coordinate a liturgical ministry (e.g., EMs, altar servers, lectors, sacristans, ushers, environment, music, etc.) are invited to serve on the commission. |
| Helpful Attributes: | Those who have a desire to enrich our liturgical assemblies, who serve as leaders in a particular ministry and who want to learn more about worship and its connection to how it shapes our community are helpful additions to this group. Members should be comfortable communicating with and working with people. |
| Training & Time Commitment: | Ministers attend monthly meetings and coordinate liturgical ministers. Continuing education is offered in several forms including recommended reading and parish retreats. |
