| Purpose: | St. Brendan parish extends the love and compassion of the Body of Christ to those parishioners who are sick, homebound, hospitalized, in nursing homes, or Hospice who are unable to join the parish community when we celebrate Mass. We share communion with them so that we can offer our prayers and care and ensure that they know that we value them as part of our community. |
| Responsibilities: | Ministers who volunteer are asked to visit the sick or homebound and bring them communion as requested by members of our parish family at times of illness. (Family members call the parish office to request this pastoral visit.) |
| Helpful Attributes: | These ministers have a strong and spiritual commitment to Christ and the Church, have a desire to visit those who are sick or homebound, and are dedicated to sharing the Body of Christ with those in need. |
| Training & Time Commitment: | This ministry is for trained Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMs) who wish to broaden their call to serve those who cannot celebrate in the assembly. Additional training is provided at St. Brendan. |
| Requirements: | This ministry is for any baptized Catholic, 16 years of age or older, who has received First Communion and Confirmation, and if married, was married within the Church. Ministers must be properly trained and certified as required by the Archdiocese. |
