March 10-11, 2018 – Cardboard Box City, a 24 Hour Homeless Experience

Cardboard Box City is a 24-hour long experience of what it means and feels to be homeless. The teens each find a cardboard box to use as their “house” for the night and camp out in the main square of The Collections at Forsyth in boxes. There are no cell phones, computers, and the only food that the teens eat for the 24-hour period is what an average homeless person would be able to scrounge up in one day—half a sandwich, a small cup of soup, etc. This activity gives teens the chance to live in someone else’s shoes and be grateful for their blessings.

On the day of CBBC, family and friends of the participants can stop by and drop off food and hygiene items for homeless people. These items will be collected in trailers and distributed to the homeless on the following weekend: March 19th. Extra items may also be donated to the food pantry at St. Brendan’s.

Additionally, all are welcome to join us for mass at 9:00 PM at the main square of The Collections at Forsyth located at 410 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming, GA 30040
