Welcome to St. Brendan’s Confirmation Program! This is an exciting time in the life of your teen and your family.
Confirmation is one of the three Sacraments of Christian Initiation which celebrates the reality that the Holy Spirit is already alive in us and working through us. As with all sacraments, Confirmation should be entered into freely and with an open heart.
Our program is designed to prepare a well rounded Candidate. Over the next 2 years, candidates will have retreat experiences and will attend sacramental preparation classes and Life Teen gatherings. They will also be responsible for service hours inside and outside of the parish. In addition, early in each year of preparation, students and parents will meet to discuss and review the program requirements and expectations.
Our hope is that through this program, students will gain and understanding that faith formation does not end with Confirmation, but it is a lifelong process. God is always calling us to a deeper relationship.
Catholic school students are also asked to complete a Faith Formation Registration form each year and attend the retreat and sacramental prep sessions. Please be sure to indicate on the form the name of the Catholic school attended on your registration form.
Attached please find the Confirmation Handbook. This will be distributed, and reviewed at the mandatory parent / teen Confirmation Orientation Meeting on September 11, 2011 at 6:30PM in the Church.
