AFF News Post Week of Sept 9 2012

Welcome to the new Adult Faith Formation (AFF) pages on St. Brendan’s redesigned website! I know you’ll be as pleased as I am with the site’s beautiful new look, as well as all the new information available to keep you up-to-date about what’s happening in our parish. I want to extend a special thanks to AFF volunteer Jason Morrow and to our Communications Coordinator Susan Shirley for all their many hours of hard work to make the redesigned website a reality!

All this is taking place just in time for the Fall, when our AFF offerings get into full swing. I hope you’ll take a few moments to check out what’s happening at our new Adult Faith Formation Events and Programs page [insert link]. There should be something for everybody here, with daytime and evening offerings, weekday and weekend offerings, and even podcasts for those who need to catch some faith formation on the run!

This week I’d like to call your special attention to a few of the events and programs we’re offering.

First, this week Catholic author and businessman Randy Hains will be presenting a workshop on integrating our faith with our work. His presentation will tell about his journey “From the Spiritual Wilderness to the Integrated Catholic Life.” Join us this Thursday evening, September 13, at 6:45 in the church. We’ll also have representatives from Ave Maria bookstore selling Randy’s book in the narthex. Don’t miss it! For more information, go here.

This Tuesday, our Adventures in Faith series begins a new weekly Bible study of The Gospel According to Saint John. Come join us for an in-depth study of the powerful, beautiful, profound account of Our Lord’s life written by His “beloved disciple.” We’ll meet in the parish social hall Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8:30. For more information, go here.

Finally, our new Year of Faith DVDs program just got off to a great start this past Sunday with Father Robert Barron’s acclaimed series Catholicism. Come to the social hall on Sunday mornings from 8:45 to 10 a.m. for viewing and discussion of this breathtakingly beautiful journey through Catholic faith, life, history, and culture. For more information, go here.

Lots of other great AFF events and programs are going on now and coming up soon. Please come back often for updates in the AFF news at St. Brendan’s!

God bless,

Paul Thigpen
